This is a custom design for a buckwheat hull mattress topper for a client with shoulder pain. Buckwheat hulls have been traditionally been used for sitting meditation and are very supportive. Since they can be quite heavy, I’ve designed four pads that fit into pockets of a fitted sheet. The first image shows one pad. As you can see, there is one channel that is larger than the others. This would be placed in the top two pockets (where your head would be) and in the bottom two pockets (where your feet would be). The pockets have snaps to help keep the pads in position. Once the pads are in the pockets, then the fitted sheet is placed (with the pocket openings facing the mattress) on the bed. The sheet has very deep sides. Having four pads also gives you the choice of using only what you need. Why buy all four if you only need two?
